In line with my passion for events like Halloween and Day of the Dead, and taking inspiration from my artistic role models, Tim Burton, Edward Gorey, & Charlie Chaplin, I like to play with humour and pathos. In my earliest sketchbooks, I endeavoured to see the light side of dark subjects, focusing on the humour of seemingly negative situations.

My empathetic outlook often seeps into my art and feeds my fascination for the odd, obscure, and different.  My early drawings were a Boy with a Telescope Stuck in His Eye, a butler named Mr. Lester who mirrored all my travels around the world, and skeletons by the bunch.

Today, my pieces convey contemporary messages on human interaction, through the use of imagery I relate to.  My love for old clothing, antique objects, and illustration styles are portrayed in my pieces; not only to provide visual wonderment, but to serve as higher symbols for how we, as people, experience all types of interaction.

I believe art—in sending a message—should entertain and intrigue people visually.  The themes should be relatable, yet delivered in a new perspective.  Familiarity in a strange context.

My style has remained recognizable throughout my career, yet it still allows room for me to grow in areas of detail & colour I have not-yet-explored.  My 1st art show was at the age of 9, held at The Whip Restaurant Gallery in Vancouver, and I am thankful to have held multiple sold-out exhibitions since.

When I’m not drawing or painting, I like to dance to jazzy tunes, collaborate with friends on short films, or go treasure-hunting at antique shops/flea markets.
